Organizational and training issues in the Sports Championship School

Organizational and training issues in the Sports Championship School.

The SMS activity so far has allowed to accumulate a lot of valuable organizational and training experience, as well as generate a lot of doubts relating to planning as well. Therefore, looking for ways to optimize training, which will be, among others. define the training direction and structure more precisely, Let's look at the most common problems here in the form of questions and answers.

1. Is there a phasing in the annual SMS training cycle??

No – because the players are already carrying out the tasks of the special training stage. In exceptional cases, individual players or groups of players, especially in the first year of training may still be due to age, the level of biological development, state of training and skills, carry out the tasks of the targeted training stage.

2. Is the periodization maintained in the annual cycle of training players in SMS??

The main training task in SMS is to prepare players to compete at the championship level. Periodization for some players – division into training periods (Preparatory, Starting, Transitional) rather, it occurs for organizational and training reasons, resulting from participation in the competition cycle, e.g.. Women's Basketball League, or participation in international championships. ME, World Cup.

3. Is cyclicality maintained in the annual cycle of training players in SMS??

So – depending on the training tasks, it is advisable to plan mesocycles and microcycles taking into account them:

In mesocycles:

• wavelength dynamics of loads,

• the phenomenon of supercompensation,

• ensuring a gradual pace of training development – adaptation processes.

In microcycles:

• individual load responses,

• individual pace of post-workout recovery,

• the content and number of classes and the total amount of training loads,

• the place of the microcycle in the structure of the larger cycle,

• the competitor's "life plan".

4. What is the role of the event calendar in SMS training??

In the first year, mostly – training and control, in the second and third years also in the result.

5. Have a training program both in terms of content, and methodological influences should be monitored by the Polish sports association?

So – it is the Polish sports associations that are responsible for the sports level of the discipline in the international arena and SMS students are current or potential members of the national or Olympic team.

6. Individualization in training players in SMS is a requirement or voluntary?

By carrying out the tasks of the special training stage, young players due to their somatic parameters, talents and predispositions, still differentiated level of biological development, the level of physical fitness and technical skills require an individual approach in the methodical sphere of training. Therefore, when planning training activities, trainers should take into account:

• individual load responses,

• individual pace of post-workout recovery,

• the competitor's "life plan",

• age, the level of biological development,

• state of training and skills,

• predispositions and talents.

7. Should there be a unified system of checking the state of training? (progress) players?

So – the uniform system of tests and checks adopted in a given discipline by the Polish sports association allows for:

• tracking the direction and pace of changes in the players' training status in the subsequent training phases in the cycle,

• and subsequent years of training in SMS,

• and defining selection norms and training guidelines across the entire sport.

8. Is a uniform way necessary – pattern, training documentation kept by the trainers?

So – The training documentation kept by the trainers in the same way allows for:

• the possibility of a reliable assessment of the correctness of the training,

• recording of training work – training loads (type, volume and intensity),

• registration of changes in the state of training in tests and checks,

• recording of the course of the sports fight and the obtained sports results,

• searching for a real relationship between the training work done and the post-training effects obtained.

Considered in such an approach, training issues, together with basic knowledge of the training planning process, will allow coaches employed in Sports Championship Schools to better organize the training process of gifted youth.
